Condensing enzyme levels in the serum after experimental myocardial infarction.

چکیده
FOLLOWING tissue damage several tissue enzymes are released into the serum. On this basis, changes in serum glutamate-oxalacetate transaminase and lactate dehydrogenase have been used as indicators of the occurrence and severity of myocardial infarction. These tests lack specificity because damage to liver and other organs also causes an increase in the serum levels of these enzymes. Recently we observed that heart tissue contains singularly high levels of condensing enzyme (see reaction 2 below). We wondered whether a rise in serum condensing enzyme would prove to be an indicator of myocardial damage more specific than either glutamateoxalacetate transaminase or lactate dehydrogenase. The present study demonstrates the release of condensing enzyme into serum following experimental myocardial infarction in clogs. Methods One acute iind 5 chronic myocardial infarction preparations wore studied. Dogs were anesthetized by intravenous injection of sodium pentobarbital, 30 mg. per Kg. Myocardial infarots were then induced by tying the anterior descending coronary artery according to the procedure of Harris. The animals with chronic infarctions were studied for one week. Periodic venous blood samples were taken, allowed to clot, and centrifuged. The serum was analyzed for condensing enzyme, and glutamnte-oxalacetate transaminase. Both of these enzymes were stable in serum at -20 C. At the time blood samples were taken, standard lead II electrocardiograms were recorded on a direct-writing Cardiotron machine. Condensing enzyme was assayed by measuring the rate of increase of absorbency at 340 m/i duo

Diagnosis of myocardial infarction is very important in a patient with chest pain. Chest pain is not always present or it may be from other causes rather than myocardial infarction. For these reasons diagnosis of myocardial infarction...

متن کاملThe Effect of an Incremental Training Rehabilitation Period on the Serum Levels of Pentraxin-3 and Osteoprotegerin in Rats With Myocardial Infarction
Aims Activation of inflammatory processes is necessary immediately after myocardial infarction (MI), but if it continues excessively, it can facilitate the occurrence of MI. Considering the positive effects of exercise on inflammatory pathways and their reduction, it seems to play a crucial role in improving the condition of MI patients. Accordingly, the present study investigated the effect of...
متن کاملEffect of Different Volumes of High-intensity Interval Trainingon Serum Troponin I and Creatine KinaseMB Levels in Patients After Myocardial Infarction
Introduction: Serum levels of cardiac troponin (CTnI) and creatine kinase (CK-MB) are two indicators of cardiac cell damage. The present study aimedto investigate the effect of different volumes of a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) course on serum CTnI and CK-MB levels in cardiac patients after myocardial infarction (MI). Materials and Methods: In this semi-experimental study with prete...

Background: Myocardial Infarction (MI) is accompanied by inflammation and production of soluble inflammatory factors. The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation of CCL18 and CCL5 levels with those of resistin, adipsin, adiponectin and leptin adipokines in the sera of patients after MI. Materials and Methods: The correlations between levels of chemokines and adipokines were investi...
